Go fly A Kite !
This is a simple bat kite we made today. It is very easy to fly needing very little wind. Yes, I know there are electrical lines in our back yard but the kite string was not long enough to reach them :) And I still gave the ole' don't fly a kite near electrical lines speech for future reference.
Carson had a blast making the kite and trying it out over & over !
Zoe reluctantly made her kite, flew it for about 15 seconds and went back into the house. If it would have been a live animal she would have stuck with it & I would have had to beg her to put it away.
Zane was at a friends, so he caught up later. He would have been more excited if something had exploded, caught on fire or you had to crack a code to complete the project.
& Little Miss V. ran her legs off trying to keep the kite in the air and not between her legs :) She is determined to keep up with the big kids , especially Carson.

Slip & Slide
Most of the time we try to get out & about as much as possible so we don't drive each other crazy at home. Then there are days when it's just nice to stay home & vegitate. Today was one of those days. Okay, I admit we still dropped by the library to see the turtle lady & all her creatures, but MOST of our day has been just hangin' out here at home. My yearly $5 investment of a slip N slide always comes in handy for days like these.
Plasma From Grapes ?
Yet another cool experiment from Aurora Lipper at Super charged science. This time we were making a 4th element.....1) solid 2) liquid 3) gas.....4) PLASMA ! Take a look.
Take a grape ( either red or green ) and slice it in half (pole to pole ) leaving the skin connected between the two halves. Stick it in the microwave for 12 seconds and whalaah you create plasma.
Below is the video of our balloon racer. I tried to post it last week but for some reason blogger was having trouble posting it.

Happy Father's Day
Pancakes ( tennis racket, turtle, snake and drumstick ) with a side of bacon.
I am so grateful not only to have a wonderful husband but a great father for my children who loves to make fun breakfasts for them , helps with science experiments which we would have given up on after five minutes and is interested in watching our Drive Thru History with us. These are just a couple of the things that I appreciate about my husband. Thank you God that you have blessed us with such a great man !

Good , Clean ? Fun!!!
We were sidetracked a little today with our plans. With the forecast looking like 98 degrees we decided to go bowling in the air conditioning. Unfortunately ,this also happens to be the last day for the local school district which equals field trips. As we rolled into the parking lot, literally about 100 school kids rolled out of the bowling alley. Thinking we had just missed the crowd we decided to head in & then got the news that about 100 more kids were about to arrive. So, quick change of plans. Fortunately, on our drive to the bowling alley we passed one of our summer time favorites CREEKSIDE. With that in mind a quick suggestion to go creeking instead of bowling turned disappointed faces into excited ones. Yes , we were ill prepared with no swimsuits, no creeking shoes, no nets, no towels. But being resourceful can be part of the adventure . Plus making friends that are willing to share is always fun :) Here are the exciting finds of the day...
